Freeze dry your milk - Step by Step
- At Milkset, we make preserving your breastmilk simple, safe, and stress-free. Here's how it works—from your freezer to shelf-stable powder you can use anytime, anywhere.
- Step 1: Express
- Express your breastmilk using a sterile technique. Steam-sterilised bottles are ideal for this step.
- Step 2: Seal
- Pour the milk into sealable breastmilk storage bags in a sterile manner. Avoid overfilling and be sure to seal tightly.
- Step 3: Store and Freeze your milk and ice packs
- Lay the bags flat and freeze for at least 48 hours before sending. This ensures your milk is ready for safe transport.
- Step 4: Contact us
- Once you have a good batch of milk contact us so we can assist in arranging courier for your frozen milk. We will then send you the invoice for payment.
- Step 5: Payment
- Make payment to MILKset and chosen courier separately - Following instructions on invoice.
- Step 6 Pack:
- Pack your excess frozen milk very securely. You can use a polystyrene cooler box inside a carton box (recommended) with ice packs or dry ice. Start with a frozen ice pack/dry ice. Do not leave open space - fill empty space with news paper or more icepacks. Pack as close to courier time as possible.
- Step 7: Send
- Ensure your availability for pick up. Keep milk frozen till pick up.
- Step 8: We Freeze-Dry & Return
- We gently freeze-dry your milk, preserving its nutritional and immunological properties. Your milk is returned to you in convenient, shelf-stable sachets—ready when your baby needs it most. Please note: lead time approximately 2 weeks.
- Step 9: Use
- Your freeze dried Breastmilk is now ready for use. Take care of your milk by following storage recommendations. Reconstruct, Pour it over solids, Mix with other fluids, Mix with lotions or even sprinkle some in bath water. Everything you used to do with your fresh breastmilk.
- Seal the bag if not used and enjoy the convenience again later.
